Last update was "repaint and colour change", and so we begun the task of FLATTING.... everyone says that painting is an art, and for sure... there is definantly truth in the saying but the real art is in the preperation.. nicks, dents and scratches on the existing surface dont just go away and every imperfection shows through even the thickest coats..... The reason i know this all for sure now that in deciding to paint the car we also decide to do it ourselves.... With the help of Lemmer and Pieper we started.... Took 2 weeks or so to get the flatting right and piece for piece went through all pit marks and previous issues... As we went on so we learnt more and more, what to look for and what to not worry about.....
Stripping........... this too i would say is just as important as the flatting and is all a good portion of the prep side... seems like more work but the end result is no overspray and less masking work...which actually means less issues.............
With the 200sx, spraying up wise its an easy car.... no 3rd and 4th doors, no roof issues and just generally a "glass top" if you look at it.... so no windows out which is a bonus... yes the the rear windows could be taken out but with the window rubber surrounds there are no issues there.... no overspray equals thumbs up............
Anyway, put some long hours in and the results were not to bad..... still some work to do but hey... all in good time... and just in time for the drift school and team orange.... more updates and pics to come..... but here's apart of the process........
first step.............................
the last.............
Korke.... just couldnt wait...........
hard as nails........ battleship grey....
