Fender Love....... 31

So the wheels dont fit..... aesthetics and ergonomics need to come into play here as well as funcion...  Im looking for a fine line between the tow and i dont want to ruin the already awesome look of the car.... I decided to use the stock fenders and rework them a bit......  get them more loco looking

so we cut a line in my spare fender....  10mm from the crease line so i could add in a panel later.....

check the idea out...  at this point it seemed so easy and quick.... hahaha......

In the mean time i got going on the rear bumper....  painted it bumper black to look like a cheap model with no colour coding.....  came out very nice....  still gotta do the front sometime.... looking good hey?

SO the front fenders...... first the cut line.... With this i bought some .8mm sheet metal and cut a wedge shape to fit my new angled fender gap....  i used 55mm at the biggest end... i didnt go much bigger as im going to roll the fender rather to take up the slack rather then the gap to big and spacers..... on my spare fender it was previously rolled and these green ones not....  but you get the idea......

Next up, ready for welding.....  cleaned up all the paint around the cut lines to make sure the welds would be good and take.......  Just a heads up........  i hadnt at the time ever done anything remotely like this, and was just kinda hoping for the best....  Remember that the car now has no paint so the weld finish is the finish.... Excited though.....

checking the panel...  looking good.......

tacking in place getting it ready for action.....

piece for piece step for step....  making sure not to heat up anything to much and distort the metal, it started coming to life.....  awesome....

here we go............  look at that.........  awesome hey......  gonna be awesome when its done and well on its way to the thunder dome........
