So a "million" things have happened in the last little while regarding the build... Finally all the parts arrived and have been slowly making there way on to the chassis.... I must say its nice having to work on "new parts".. Putting it all together and seeing the results from what was to what is is the best part.... Yes we keen to get it to the track and play and have some fun.... but this process to me is just as fun.....even thinking of what next we should be tackling in terms of a full build.... But for now.... this V2 is full steam ahead.....
I would like to say big thanks to my buddy Antal for hooking us up with the custom front hubs... 5-114 beauties.... they bolted straight on with no issues... Running the full s13 front set up we are able to play alot more with brake set ups and suspension "changes"... As previously mentioned we got our hands on a set of R32 GTR front calipers... Im thinking this should be enough given we ran the front stock set up before... but with the new ideas in mind... Power will be on the up so we gonna have to see if bigger later is better....
The rear suspension on the 31 runs the a similar type to the s13... Suspension bolts straight in pretty much... The only thing we had to really do here was drill two new holes as the 31 runs 3 - s13 runs 2.... Easy fix and we have coilovers that can just bolt in.... In terms of heights... s13 and 31 are pretty much the same... the 31 slightly longer in terms of strut top heights... This is perfect so if we go with a low stance (if......hahaha), we still have the travel....
BC...... so these all finally arrived.... Loving the look to with the car having most the parts gold and black... I run these coilovers on another car and have no issues so far.... These ones are track specific too so i doubt we should have any trouble.... The V1 ran on cut springs and blown front shocks most its life.... with the coilovers and s13 front end... im guessing it can only be better..... the car should also come in at around 100kgs lighter than the last one... Should be interesting what the clock will say.... Its nothing like the last car really... all the things that were planned for V1 didnt transpire.... so i guess this was just an opportunity really to finally get what we really wanted done......
The front set up for now i have set up with the max camber... These stock BC's run to around 3.5 negetive, but with the longer lower control arms, we can get to around 5.5 im guessing... ill only really know once we get it to wheel alighnment....
I love how simple it all looks and how comfortable.... Nothing in the picture comes stock on the 31 yet its at home there... hahaha..... Really starting to become a car.... I like that fact that we also didnt hold back... Just plodding along and taking the time out to put it together properly is really the right way... Its diffucult not getting that "lets get it done now" story... Hey, its taking longer than we thought but so what... this is just as much fun......... isnt it?......
