SO.. Ive been thinking bout doing this for a few years now but havent been the kinda fit ive wanted to be... This year i decided why not... Ive actually been off the bike forever but was over the idea of the normal mundane bike rides.... I built my single to do races and to train on... knowing that i would be eventually racing some races on it... Training was initially difficult and took some getting use to.. but the fitness comes quickly... anyway...
The argus... what an awesome ride... Left off at 6.42 in group G... some on lookers thinking has this guy lost it... haha... All i can say is firstly... if you havent tried or thought about doing this event, you really should... Its the biggest timed cycling event in the world.... over 30 000 people take part every year.. Best scenery in the country and most amazing route.... This year the wind blew a bit but not enough to make it difficult.... I had my gearing high, so set up for the flats (48/16 - roll out 81(for those of you that know)), which in turn makes the hills that much harder... No issues... my KIU bike and i managed to roll over them and ended up coming in in around a 3.18 time...... I was hoping for under 4 hours so this time was way better than expected.... Its my 8th Argus, and so far the one i will remember most..... Thanks Pieper and Parker for hooking us up in CT.... see you next year
