SO.... its been up and down with regards to what to do next motor wise.... In the meantime, we had tons to sort still... diff and brakes having to all come out again... Gaskets and brackets... Side shafts being machined again... Finally though the rear end seems to be in and sorted..... diff wise... Next up is just shimming the calipers perfect..... Brake pads ready to go in... The front end seems to be there too... we might be pulling the beautiful purple brake booster out seeing we running much bigger brakes... I think in the near future we probably even gonna go bigger so might as well set that up right, right now..... Plus it will give us the ever so slight amount of space we need for the "piping"........
Anyway... here is the pup sitting on all fours again... but legit... we slapped on the 33 wheels so we could move it... 9j wheels and still touching.... serious bodywork to come it seems to fit the 11j and 12j work wheels... worth i think though... should be rolling hard..... "Old is Gold".... We put the front end on just to have a little looksie... loving the look of it the more i see it.... keen to do some fender work soon though... We setting up the castor rods to give us way more setting... and clearance.. at the moment the wheels touch on the inner fender but that should all be sorted soon... Cutting back here and there.. we need angle on this pup so we can play properly..... Weird how our little project became a big one.... guess it should just mean more fun hey?
So we finally decided what motor we want to run... from the begining we said we wouldnt, but as time went on, we just thought, hey.... lets do it the way we really want it... We made some calls and were told it would be available in a few weeks... suited us fine as it gave us some time to get some money together... After waiting and waiting.. Luck kinda struck.... We heard about a motor in Jbay the guy had bought a good few years ago sitting in his garage.... We jumped in the van and went down to check it out.....
Perfection.......
The Motor... 2JZ.... I know the nissan fans will think why.... I know the rb's fit straight in and i know they make power and it would be easier... but we wanted this motor... 3 litre and 600hp reliable power... I have always wanted one of these and glad we stuck to it... I have had issues with the rb25 before, so it was time for something different anyway.... Lots in store for this motor too.... Lots of changes to made to it and its gonna be a long time till its running... but hey.... this is the fun part........... but then again... so will be driving it.......
